**What can I expect to do in this role?**: The Product Owner will be responsible for providing research, analysis, planning, development and project leadership to recommend and implement changes to existing programs/initiatives/projects and to create user friendly digital products that support these programs/initiatives.

Duties will include:

- Lead the business analysis of the delivery of new/updated digital system/products, including the business process re-engineering and continuous improvement opportunities to meet future program and initiative needs.
- Lead continuous improvement projects/initiatives that optimize the user experience, accessibility and service delivery through best-in-class business solutions, information management and performance measurement capability.
- Responsible for the front-end development, design, and implementation strategies and business solutions, ensuring they are compliant with legislation.
- Conduct business needs analysis on current corporate/ministry programs/initiatives to update existing procedures and recommends/implements changes to existing programs/initiatives through the use of user-friendly digital products and digital roadmaps
- Build infrastructure for various digital solutions that are stable, consistent and flexible and in compliance with all OPS service design standards
- Design, build and support cloud and local development environments so that developers can create digital products that will change the way the public interacts with the government and how OPS staff coordinate key communications activities
- Work with other DevOps engineers on system architecture design, search engine integration and data management and data analytics best practices
- Ensure the availability, proper monitoring and disaster recovery strategies are in place for all digital solutions in our portfolio
- Work across units and support collaboration and integration across the division
- Lead, oversee, plan and coordinate product feature backlog and development for the product
- Proactively communicate backlog status and ensure transparency between development team and marketing stakeholders
- Guides and coordinates the work of the team through iterative planning, ensuring requirements and new features are well defined and meet best practices, standards and specifications (e.g. accessible, reusable, simple, attractive, easy to use) and are actionable for the development team.
