**The Opportunity**

The School of Health and Public Safety at SAIT prepares students for the work demands of the healthcare sector across Alberta, Canada and abroad. We offer specialized training in diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, professional assistant programs, information management and training for wellness professionals. Our instructors and staff are a dynamic and motivated team of professionals committed to the success of our students and the promise of an industry-ready education.

Note**:This is a temporary (Adjunct Instructor) role with an end date.**

**The Role**:
- Provide a high quality of education for students
- Evaluate student progress through examination and assignments.
- Prepare and deliver lectures and practical demonstrations to students enrolled in the program
- Facilitate student achievement through mentorship
- Update course outlines and outcomes for theory and practical classes
- Contribute in a positive way to maintain a "team environment"
- Promote professionalism and coach students
- Provide feedback for continuous program involvement
- Participate in program and department meetings
- Arrange practicum and support students while on practicum

**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Related post-secondary education and a background working in a health care setting
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience
- Experience working within a hospital or acute clinic setting is an asset
- Previous teaching experience is preferred as are additional educational qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment
- Advanced computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Electronic Medical Record, use of the internet and communication software is required
- Applicants must have a flexible schedule to accommodate the students’ timetable
- Verification that a recent Police Information Check and a Vulnerable Sector Search, in compliance with Alberta Health Services, has been passed successfully
- Record of immunizations
