The Northwest Region of MNR's Regional Operations Division is seeking an individual with experience in managing complex projects and programs, policy and program analysis, strategic and operational planning. You will use your expertise and skills to play a critical role in leading and managing multiple concurrent region
- and division-wide projects and initiatives. The position reports into the Regional Services Section, which uses analytic approaches and diverse perspectives to develop innovative financial, geographic, data, information management, and emergency/health and safety management solutions for the Northwest Region.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role, you will:
- provide overall direction and management of complex projects/programs that have broad implications within the Region/Division and cross-divisionally
- participate in policy analysis, contribute to program development and planning processes for strategic and operational plans
- consult with program managers to clarify/assess program needs and define project deliverables
- define the goals, scope, budget and resource requirements to successfully initiate, sequence and undertake multiple simultaneous projects
- determine the skills and knowledge required of project staff, and provide overall team leadership
- define and execute project control/evaluation mechanisms, resolve issues, prepare status reports and brief senior management
- develop and maintain an understanding of government policy/priorities and natural resource management strategies and delivery approaches
**This position will require occasional travel to site locations**
**How do I qualify?**:
**Business Knowledge**:
- You have knowledge of the principles and processes of government policy and program development with experience integrating and coordinating the implementation of new policies and programs.
**Leadership Skills**:
- You have demonstrated leadership to coach staff and build working relationships.
- You have team organizational skills to plan, organize and facilitate project work.
**Project Management Skills**:
- You have project management skills and experience to provide leadership and coordination of multiple concurrent projects utilizing independent judgement, conceptual thinking, analytical problem solving and controllership ability.
**Communication and Interpersonal Skills**:
- You have the ability to effectively communicate, negotiate and influence others by utilizing oral and written communication skills, and delivery of presentations and briefings.
- You have interpersonal skills to establish effective relationships and networks.
**Research and Analysis**:
- You have experience conducting research and environmental scans to identify trends and developments to make recommendations for improvement initiatives
- You have strategic thinking and conceptual skills to identify and assess issues and opportunities
