North Bay, Canada Redpath Mining Full time

The Manager, Equipment & Assets is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and managing the Redpath mobile, and supplementary equipment assets, including Mechanized Raise Climber units, hoists and other mining related equipment.

Reporting directly to the Vice President, Shafts and Technical Services, this role will provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Mobile Shop team including the Maintenance Planners, while supporting designated field projects. This role is pivotal in driving the efficient maintenance, optimization, and lifecycle management of assets and technology. Additionally, the Manager, Equipment & Assets will ensure seamless procurement across locations where assets are deployed, aligning with organizational goals and technical standards.

**Strategic**:

- Develop analytical tools and perform trend analyses on the asset fleet, providing recommendations for asset replacements predicted by relevant metrics.
- Formulate effective communication strategies to inform operations about the current status of assets.
- Create, maintain, and communicate a multi-year strategic asset roadmap.
- Establish and maintain a review plan for the Mobile Shop personnel and develop training/improvement plans for employee growth.
- Collaborate with other Redpath entities on asset/process/ERP standardization.
- Develop and maintain technology that supports the Redpath Technology Roadmap as it is related to assets in the field.
- Provide fiscal and operational reports regarding asset management to various departments/divisions as required including ESG, equipment status, fleet lists, asset metrics, etc.
- Manage and monitor spending for all Redpath equipment, spares and consumables.
- Work with projects on repair cost accountability and cost transfer.

**Financial**:

- Develop and maintain operational and overhead budgets for the shop in accordance with financial protocols.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure financial reporting is available for cost reviews and improvement plans.
- Work closely with the Estimating and Finance teams on equipment rates for projects annually along with adjusting operating rates as needed.

**Assets**:

- Establish, review and update preventive maintenance and inspection standards for the fleet.
- In consultation with the Mobile Shop teams establish, review and make recommendations to spare parts levels.
- Ensure regular asset dashboards are supplied to operations.
- With the assistance of the Mobile Shop teams, provide technical support/advise to field level mechanics and operations regarding assets.
- Ensure asset requirements are understood from existing/potential new projects and ensure transparency of the planning results.
- Work very closely with all equipment OEM’s and the Global Redpath teams to develop and ensure contractual obligations.
- Post secondary education in Mining/Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
- 5-8 years of experience in equipment and asset management, preferably in the mining industry.
- Proficient in computer systems such as Microsoft Office products, Oracle, and ERP CAM system.
- Strategic thinking
- Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines, and targets
- Knowledge of Equipment quality & documentation systems
- Experience with the development and management of a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- High level of attention to detail, neatness and accuracy
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
