**Fiber Optic Splicer & Tester**

**Responsibilities**
- Read and interpret fiber optic installation plans, diagrams, and schematics to ensure correct and efficient execution of work.
- Install, splice, and test fiber optic cables, ensuring proper performance and compliance with technical specifications.
- Use industry-standard testing equipment to test and validate the performance of fiber optic networks, identifying any issues or faults.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or faults in the network in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of installation and testing procedures, including cable layouts, test results, and modifications made to the network.
- Submit detailed daily logs to the Project Coordinator at the end of each shift.
- Participate in site safety procedures, including pre-job orientations, toolbox meetings, and ensuring safety paperwork is complete and accurate.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices while performing splicing and testing tasks. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow company safety protocols.
- Collaborate with a team to meet project objectives and deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Work independently when necessary and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in fiber optic or telecom installation projects.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical plans, diagrams, and schematics.
- Expertise in fiber optic splicing and testing techniques.
- High attention to detail and a meticulous approach to tasks.
- A safety-conscious mindset and a commitment to adhering to all relevant safety protocols.
- Experience with cable pulling is considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean 3-year driver’s abstract.
- Ability to work in varied and cold weather conditions.
- Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong work ethic and ability to react to changing conditions quickly.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
