**Job Summary**:
Customer-centric professional who enjoys: 1) helping visitors (tourists) understand the context of cultural and heritage objects and information, 2) cataloguing artifacts, art, photographs, and 3) researching

**Duties**:

- Catalogue museum artifacts and gallery works of art, construct and install exhibits and displays
- Restore, maintain and store museum and gallery collections, frame artwork, and perform other functions in support of curatorial and conservation activities
- Assist in the restoration and conservation of artifacts under the direction of a conservator
- Construct displays and install artifacts in display cases
- Mount paintings, photographs and other art work
- Classify and assign registration numbers to artifacts and supervise inventory control
- Conduct guided tours of the heritage facility
- Provide historical and cultural facts related to the site
- Assist in the research, handling and storage of artifacts
- Answer inquiries and provide information concerning exhibits or the site
- Assist with the planning and development of special events
- Clerical and or administrative work
- May collect admission fees and sell souvenirs
- Answering phone
- Light custodial duties
- May open the facility for public access
- Conduct offsite research
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Publisher, Adobe
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Previous experience as an interpreter or tour guide is an asset
- On-the-job training is provided

**Qualifications**:
Background in museum technology or conservation technology, artifact cataloging or completion of other technical or on-the-job training programs related to the work are preferred, good communication skills

**Note**: This position requires a high level of professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and confidentiality. The ability to adapt quickly to different environments and work collaboratively with diverse individuals is essential.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 14 weeks

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
