The District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board (DNSSAB) prides itself on putting people first. Here at the DNSSAB, we strive towards a future of healthy, sustainable communities within our region. To achieve this, we are looking for two (2) talented Community Paramedics to add to our exceptional Paramedic Services team.

Under the general supervision of the Commander of Community Paramedicine, Community Paramedics (CP) are responsible to provide both primary and advanced medical care, within the established scope of practice, and within the limitations set out by Health Science North Centre for Prehospital Care (HSNCPC) and the CP medical oversight MRP. CP personnel are required to engage in patient-centric advocacy to ensure a system that focuses on clients, family members and residents of the district. CP personnel will adhere to all applicable legislation, and organizational policies/directives.

Qualifications:

- Successful completion of an Emergency Care/Paramedicine program recognized by the Ministry of Health in the Province of Ontario;
- Certification as a Primary Care Paramedic (minimum) in the Province of Ontario is required;
- Current certification in A-EMCA is required;
- Current CPR (HCP) Certificate required;
- Valid Class F Driver’s license with clean Driver’s Abstract required;
- Good knowledge of Base Hospital Policy and procedures, related Acts and Regulations is an asset;
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to incorporate core competencies including customer service, communication, team work, initiative/self-management, accountability and flexibility/adaptability;
- Excellent level of written and verbal communication skills required;
- Adult education and service instructor experience is required;
- Good attendance and work record is required;
- Education/training pertaining to community paramedicine, geriatric medicine or continuing education in the medial field is an asset;
- Must be able to function both independently and as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team in caring for all levels of patient acuity;
- Must demonstrate commitment to ensure personal safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitors;
- Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in the organization;
- Bilingualism (advanced level English/French) is an asset.

**Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Police Record Check within three (3) months is a requirement. Proof of Vaccination is a requirement.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $39.26-$41.06 per hour
