**PAYROLL COORDINATOR**

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assisting with the interpretation of provider agreements and statutory legislations to ensure compliance regarding pay, deductions, benefits, taxes, and documentation.
- Maintaining all employee payroll information to ensure it is current and accurate.
- Maintaining assigned tasks related to district payroll system set up, where required (i.e., payroll tax increases, union dues, etc.).
- Preparation and processing of full-cycle payroll, where required, which includes review and balancing of all payroll-related allocations (i.e. rates of pay, deductions, hours of work, burdens, statutory remittances, etc.).
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports and filings as required.
- Assist with the preparation of required employee payroll information, documents, or payments for current or past employees as required by internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
- Miscellaneous invoicing, accounts receivable, and data entry.
- Other duties as required.

**REQUIRED SKILLS**
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline an asset.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification obtained or actively working towards.
- Some co-op experience or 1 year of payroll or timekeeping experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of payroll processes, statutory laws, and labor provider agreements.
- Strong organizational skills and high level of detail orientation required to maintain and submit all necessary documentation and meet deadlines and requirements.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information.
- Working knowledge of and experience with payroll and accounting software.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Basic skills using Microsoft Office Suite and internal operating systems.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Full-Time position, working 40 hours per week.
