**Job Description**:
The Edmonton Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Construction Inspector for immediate employment out of the Edmonton, Alberta office. The project will be near West of Edmonton, in Wabumun, AB

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

- Coordination with the Contractor, Owner, Consulting team, and other stakeholders (eg. Town, utilities, etc) during the course of construction
- Review submittals, and provide recommendations to the Owner and/or Contractor with the support from the engineering team
- Review the quality and type of materials delivered to sites as well as the methods and means and finished products to ensure conformance with designs and specifications, provide feedback when required
- Provide inspection of various items in accordance with the specifications, provide feedback when required
- Verifying quantities, prepare monthly progress reports for work completed by the Contractor for payment and work with the Client to ensure proper preparation of Contract Progress Payments
- Prepare and issue Site Instructions, Contemplated Change Orders and Change Orders
- Maintain daily diaries for references and payment purposes
- Provide input on claims including quantities, basis of payment and entitlement
- Coordinate inspection, surveying and materials testing staff
- Prepare weekly construction reports
- Prepare contract final details
- Provide leadership to on-site consulting team
- Coordinate with AECOM Project Manager on the delivery of this Project

**Qualifications**:
Minimum Requirements:

- Bachelor Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Civil, Construction, etc.) or Civil related Technical Diploma + 4 years of experience OR Highschool + 6 years of experience in highways or roads construction projects
- Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle for site work

Preferred Qualifications:

- Ideally 7+ years of experience in highway transportation projects
- Ideally experience with Alberta Transportation Roadway construction standards
- Past Alberta Transportation construction inspection and contract administration experience
- Working knowledge of Alberta Transportation specifications, guidelines, project administration, and procedures
- Working experience with local stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and record keeping skills to track issues, correspondence, quantities; knowledge of Microsoft Office
