Cust/grds Keeper

This position helps provide and maintain facilities which give Church members places where they can work, worship, teach, learn, pray together, make and renew covenants, and receive sacred ordinances. Each Church facility that is built and/or maintained should 1) Provide a spiritual setting for members to worship, and 2) Present an image of reverence and dignity in the community. This position:

- Serves as a lead custodian over a work group of 2-15 custodians, or as a senior level custodian.
- Performs moderate to heavy custodial duties.
- May be required to travel from building to building.
- Watches for safety and other hazards.
- Under the direction of the supervisor, assigns work and gives direction to other custodians.
- Evaluate performance of custodians.
- Provide training to custodians to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Assist in setting up rooms as requested.
- May clean chandeliers, fixtures, and wood paneling from ladders or scaffolding, and remove snow from sidewalks.
- Maintain good public relations. Report problems to supervisor.
- Operate motorized equipment such as a walk behind snow blower, walk behind lawn mower, chain saw, vacuum, and buffer.
- See that assigned area is properly maintained according to set standards.
- Attend meetings as assigned.
- At least one year of custodial or related work experience required.
- Must understand custodial procedures, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to operate assigned equipment such as: buffers, carpet cleaners, vacuums, snow removal equipment etc.
- Work with cleaning agents and chemicals with the use of rubber gloves, masks or other safety equipment.
- Able to lift and move 50 lbs.
- Understand English for general communication, video training, building security, and safety.
- Work in a team orientated work group.
