**Key Responsibilities**:
The SCD Consultant works in partnership with parents and community professionals _to _support the inclusion of children who require additional supports in childcare and preschool settings_:_
- Provides initial consultation for new families referred to Supported Child Development (SCD),
- Conducts initial assessment of support needs and request for additional support as needed.
- Assists families to find a childcare program or other community-based supports;
- Completes all initial required documentation;
- Makes referrals to other agencies if appropriate; and
- Collaborates with families and providers for a positive placement.
- Addresses parent and childcare provider needs, and issues related to inclusion.
- Liaises with other professionals in the planning process and provide services such as observation, non-clinical assessment, program monitoring, training, problem solving and collaboration.

**Education and Experience Requirements**
- Valid Early Childhood Educator License to practice issued by the BC Child Care Facilities Licensing Board.
- Valid Special Needs License to practice issued by the BC Child Care Facilities Licensing Board.
- Valid Infant and Toddlers License to practice issued by the BC Child Care Facilities Licensing Board.
- Five (5) years recent related experience working in inclusive childcare and the community social services sector with a demonstrated working knowledge of family centered service, early intervention, child development, family support and community-based services.
- Valid First Aid Certificate as per childcare licensing requirements.
- Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes.
- Criminal Record Review acceptable to the Centre.
- Desirable: Valid School Aged Care Certificate.
- Provide proof of vaccination as per BC PHO order for Health and Community Care Workers.

Since 1953, The Centre for Child Development of the Lower Mainland has worked to overcome societal barriers for those with disabilities and empower vulnerable children and families throughout the South Fraser Region. At The Centre, we work with families to provide comprehensive, collaborative medical rehabilitation programs and multi-disciplinary therapeutic services to children with a wide range of abilities and conditions. We now serve almost 4,000 children each year through more than 30,000 sessions at over 350 locations in Surrey, White Rock, Delta, and Langley.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $35.48-$44.19 per hour

Expected hours: 18.75 per week
