**About Us**:
The University Advancement division plays a leading role in strengthening awareness of and support for the University’s mission and goals by leading alumni relations and fundraising efforts across campus and beyond. All departments within the Division build enduring alumni and public trust through understanding and support for Western University in a coordinated campus-wide effort that results in the engagement and funding needed to make an impact. There are 3 departments within the Division - Departments of Development, Alumni Relations and Advancement Operations.

**Responsibilities**:
The Alumni Engagement Coordinator will provide administrative, logístical, and data support and analysis to event activities within Alumni Relations. This role is responsible for assisting with conceptualizing, developing, co-ordinating and managing the details of engagement activities that originate from the Alumni Relations Office. The role provides administrative and operational support, including researching information to support priorities, meetings and projects; coordinating travel arrangements; and assisting with the implementation of select recognition programs.
The Alumni Relations team manages more than 100 events each year. Many of these activities will take place virtually, locally, on campus and in key global locations. The event activity requires the presence of the Alumni Engagement Coordinator, at several events, including many that are scheduled for evenings and weekends

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Three year Community College Diploma in business administration, fundraising, event management or other related field
- Three year Community College Diploma in Business or University Degree preferred

**Experience**:

- Five years administrative and customer service experience, providing support to multiple stakeholders
- Previous work experience in the corporate and/or special events environments is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to coordinate multiple tasks independently while maintaining accuracy, meeting deadlines and ensuring all details are handled
- Demonstrated understanding and ability to assist, coordinate, and execute event-specific tasks and responsibilities within a team environment
- Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively in a team environment with academic and administrative staff, alumni, students and volunteers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
- Strong customer service skills to handle and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner
- Ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with clients, and peers
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and prioritize work
- Proven ability and natural inclination to interact with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office and database management required; expertise with web page development and maintenance, InDesign, Photoshop, Visio, Convio and Adobe products, and digital media platforms preferred
- Excellent proofreading and editing skills
- Knowledgeable about Western administrative structure, policies and procedures preferred
