**About Us**:
The University Advancement division plays a leading role in strengthening awareness of and support for the University’s mission and goals by leading alumni relations and fundraising efforts across campus and beyond. All departments within the Division build enduring alumni and public trust through understanding and support for Western University in a coordinated campus-wide effort that results in the engagement and funding needed to make an impact. There are 3 departments within the Division - Departments of Development, Alumni Relations and Advancement Operations.

**Responsibilities**:
The TD Associate, Alumni Partnerships will support the engagement of Western alumni through the Purple Perks Program. This will be achieved through the use of digital (Purple Perks platform and app) and social media channels, in-person participation at our Purple Perks events, including those in our Discover the World travel program, and alumni participation in the Alumni Business Directory as applicable. This role will review current offerings to identify new opportunities, find creative and news ways of marketing our offerings and develop standardized processes to measure metrics and evaluate the program. The role will engage Western's overall community in support of alumni engagement goals and will work collaboratively to implement a variety of alumni engagement strategies for all alumni. The Associate will research best practices for creating meaningful engagement with all alumni through targeted programming, communications and digital engagement strategies. The role will gain valuable experience related to alumni relations, communications and marketing, and will have an opportunity to learn and practice the skills required for a successful career in Advancement.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Undergraduate Degree

**Experience**:

- 2 years of professional experience in alumni relations and/or experience in program or event planning, marketing, in a post-secondary or non-profit environment is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Familiarity with best practices in alumni engagement and public affairs
- Familiarity with communication tools
- Attention to detail and proofreading abilities
- Discretion, tact and maturity to deal with public relations issues related to higher education
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
- A desire to grow and advance skills, which is demonstrated by attending conferences, workshops and other professional developmental opportunities to enhance performance
- Ability to collaborate across internal and external boundaries to meet common objectives, improve outcomes and support work beyond one's own unit
- Verbal communication skills to clearly express ideas in an objective manner, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
- Ability to analyze metrics and consider past communications to craft engaging written communications using social media or other appropriate channels
- Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment
- Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the University’s events and activities
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Possess a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative
- Ability to create a positive impression while interacting with others and responding to inquiries, by telephone, in person or electronically
- Proven ability and natural inclination to develop relationships by interacting with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
