Norwood Sawmills is a worldwide leader in portable sawmills and is looking for a motivated analytical professional to join our Supply Chain team as a Logistics Analyst Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, this role will lead the efforts to ensure proper fright management on all inbound and outbound shipments, address disruptions that will impact our customers, and analyze data to identify opportunities on cost-savings and improvements that can be made within our distribution network.
**What you bring to the team**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Business.
- 5+ years of experience in Business to Customer, less-than-truck load and parcel logistics (US and Canada).
- Analytical mindset: you thrive on gathering data and investigating the problem, trying to find the best solution.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Advanced proficiencies in data analysis, cost analysis, and reporting.

**A typical day as a Logistics Analyst**:
- Coordinate all efforts with freight and freight quoting software partners to ensure that freight is quoting quickly and accurately.
- Issue and file freight claims for damaged or lost shipments with fulfillment centers and freight partners.
- Identify possible changes to Norwood’s packaging that could lead to reduce damage, reduced shipping costs, or otherwise improve customer experience.
- Act as a liaison between Supply Chain and Customer Experience Team to troubleshoot any issues that may arise with:
- outbound freight quotes,
- shipping address issues,
- other logistics issues.
- Lead the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) process, in partnership with Finance, Operations and Customer Service, to ensure that customer returns are received, inspected and credited in a timely manner.
- Monitor market conditions and freight cost trends to provide valuable insight to our Finance department.
- Guide and train the Sales and Customer Service teams to ensure that the policies and procedures are understood and followed - this may require documentation to be created in some circumstances.
- Track KPIs and report on warehouses’ and freight partners’ performance.
- Work alongside the Finance, Operations and Sales team to make sure the freight quoting system is working accurately.
