**About the role**

We’re looking for a **_Field Adjuster, Property Large Loss _**to join our growing team

**Workplace**: Telecommuting (some regions could be favored)

As a **_Field Adjuster _**on our** Property Large Loss team**, you will handle large and complex commercial property claims through all distribution channels. The types of losses may include Commercial Property, Energy, Equipment Breakdown, and additional Specialty Claims.

**What you'll do here**:

- Manage, investigate, analyze, negotiate and resolve large and complex commercial property claims generally with exposures over $1M or involving specialized kind of loss
- Engage and manage internal and external counsel, consultants, adjusters, accountants, appraisers and engineers to confirm coverage, determine liability and assess damages
- Mentor, guide and provide technical advice to regional file handlers to ensure consistent and effective claims handling and support long term succession planning
- Train colleagues on complex claims handling
- Work with Underwriting, Loss Prevention and other stakeholders to identify potential risks, hazards and trends, sharing feedback and lessons learned
- Provide brilliant customer service to brokers, customers, and colleagues
- Deliver all key performance indicators as it relates to loss development and loss adjustment expenses, claims leakage control and expense management
- Leverage your expertise in a creative, continuous improvement environment to support a model of best practice operations
- Effectively negotiate claims when appropriate
- Attend settlement conferences and trials

**What you bring to the table**:

- A critical thinker and have intellectual curiosity when approaching complex problems in time-sensitive situations
- A skilled communicator allowing you to foster favorable business relationships and provide clear guidance to clients
- A problem-solver and able to gather information, evaluate a situation and negotiate the next steps toward a solution
- Able to adapt to changing needs and understand the need to be flexible and agile
- A planner and able to effectively organize to establish an effective strategy
- A strong collaborator and have a passion for mentoring and coaching others
- 10+ years experience with direct handling of large and complex commercial property claims
- Appropriate knowledge of all relevant regulatory and legal requirements applicable to the position
- Undergraduate Degree or CIP designation (asset)
- Travel required
- Valid drivers license
- Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
