Program Facilitator- Creating Opportunities Strategy

The **Creating Opportunities Strategy** is a Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre program targeted to low-income individuals with multiple barriers to employment. The program is designed to meet each individual where they currently sit on the pre-employment spectrum. Creating Opportunities involves a mix of workshop facilitation, supported work experience placements, free public workshops and certifications, job coaching, and much more.
**Job purpose**
The Program Facilitator is responsible for organizing and facilitating public workshops and certification sessions that equip community members with the necessary skills and resources to succeed in their professional journeys. This position is highly collaborative, working in tandem with other Creating Opportunities Strategy staff as well as many external community partners to provide innovative, creative, and necessary content to the public.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Program Facilitation/Support Duties**:
- Develop workshop content to address community employment support and skills training needs according to community and industry trends.
- Facilitate engaging and interactive workshops designed to develop essential employability skills, including but not limited to communication, time management, conflict resolution, interview skills, resume writing, culturally relevant programming, Canadian workplace culture, etc
- Coordinate certification session, providing participants with specialized training to enhance their employability in a variety of industries.
- Conduct needs assessments on prospective participants to determine where internal and external referrals are appropriate.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, occasionally delivering workshops off site at partnering organizations.
**Communication and Collaboration**:
- Work closely with other Creating Opportunities Strategy program staff to provide comprehensive participant support, sharing information and resources as needed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local employers, educational institutions, and community partners to facilitate successful transitions for participants.
- Assist in creating promotional material for the Communications team to be shared on the SFBLC website and social media.
**Admin/Agency Related Duties**:
- Coordinate with other Creating Opportunities Staff and partner agencies to deliver a variety of content to target populations.
- Oversee the scheduling, advertisement, and recruitment for program workshops/certifications with the program Intake Administrator.
- Participate in overall program intake and evaluation processes by conducting pre and post-program evaluations, to assess program workshops and make data-driven improvements.
- Collect accurate records regarding participant information.
- Contribute to an empowering and inclusive environment where coworkers are treated with respect and dignity.
- Other duties as required to contribute to the mission of the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre and the Creating Opportunities Strategy. _Occasional off-site work may be required._
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., education, social work, social sciences, commerce) or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience.
- Experience in group facilitation/instruction, coaching, or training, preferably in a community-based setting is an asset.

- Experience with vulnerable populations/populations facing complex barriers to employment is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and foster a safe and inclusive environment for participants and staff.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
- A moderate level of digital literacy is required. Ability to effectively utilize Powerpoint, Word, MS Forms, Outlook, etc.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $23.60-$29.15 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 37.5 per week
