Adler University is currently seeking a part-time (2days/week) Practicum Training Support Coordinator. Under the guidance of the Director of Training, this position is responsible for providing a wide range or administrative and operational services to the Director of Training for the Counselling Psychology Program. The Practicum Training Support Coordinator acts as liaison to facilitate and coordinate various training tasks, including collaboration and timely communication flow with students, practicum sites, faculty and staff as needed. Leverages industry knowledge and best practices to promote the mission and vision of the Counselling Psychology Program and the institution. Supports culture and development and management efforts.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum Completion of a Master of Counselling or related field such as MA in Social work or Clinical Psychology
- Eligibility for Registration with an appropriate professional body, such as BCACC, CCPA, RSW

**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/and ABILTIITES**

Demonstrate ability to work positively and professionally with students, faculty administration and staff in both individual and group settings.
- Provide effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, adjust to changing demands and manage time-sensitive tasks while exercising sound judgment and initiative
- Draw on their clinical background in exercising discretion, professionalism and ethics when handling issues of a difficult, sensitive or confidential nature.
- Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and proactively deal with challenges or issues in the counselling training domain
- Provide superior interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.
- Demonstrate the ability to build rapport while maintaining boundaries in relationships
- Have strong communication capacity including oral, written and listening skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to compose non-routine correspondence
- Have proficient and functional knowledge of MS Office (Work, Excel and Outlook)

Essential

**Responsibilities**:

- Logging of Clinical Hours
- Troubleshooting basic student practicum difficulties
- Assisting with maintaining Clinical Practicum Handbook
- Communicating with students searching for sites regarding site status during practicum search
- Writing standard letters required by students
- Supports and coordinates communication and administrative activities related to the Counselling Psychology Clinical Practicum
- Sources, recruits, and vets Clinical Practicum sites, both locally and across Canada
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with individuals and departments across the institution
- Uses initiative and good clinical judgment to respond to inquiries and/or refer matters to the Director of Training as appropriate
- Helps review and maintain systems and documentation that support the Counselling Psychology Clinical Practicum.
- Prepare orientation for all students each term
- Respond to inquiries from clinical agencies regarding planned student clinical site placements
