We have a permanent opportunity for an **Airside Safety Officer** in the Airside Operations Department. Reporting to the Regional Manager, Airside Operations Delivery, and representing the Airport Authority and Airside Operations Department, you will be responsible for all aspects of vehicle operations in the airside environment. This key decision-making and results-driven role provides resolution to safety and operational issues, coordinates airside activities, and responds to airside emergencies.

An **Airside Safety Officer** to provide an outline of the responsibilities assigned to the position in the Winnipeg Airport. This position reports to the Regional Manager to ensure the successful management of the services that Logixx Provides to the Winnipeg Airports Authority.

Due to the varying conditions and the ever changing environment, this document could not list every possible scenario that may occur. In the event that you are unsure of the responsibilities or what action to take, do not hesitate to contact the Airport Operations Manager or designate.

An **Airside Safety Officer** is responsible for protecting the establishment and ensures all civilians are safe at all times. The incumbent will be the first-line representative to all staff, customers, and clients.

**Required Qualification**:

- Positive outlook and enthusiasm for the Airport Community.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain a valid **RAIC.**:

- Ability to maintain a **D/A OR** **AVOP **( **Airside Vehicle Operators Permit**).
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Effective written/oral communication skills in English.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
- Planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to exhibit a calm and reasoned approach when dealing with high stress situations.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to an ever-changing work environment.
- Willing and able to train in backup positions.
- Post-secondary education. (Not a requirement but would be considered an asset)
- First Aid and C.P.R. certification. (Not a requirement but would be considered an asset)
- Verbal skills in a second language. (Not a requirement but would be considered an asset)
- Previous work experience in security guard or related field. (Considered an asset)
- Must be willing to cross train in ALL level 1 positions
- Must be willing to train and obtain an AVOP for operational needs
