**About the Position**:
Hey there Money.ca is growing and we’re looking for a collaborative and proactive Associate Editor to play a pivotal role in shaping the content strategy of our platform. Reporting to the Senior Editor, your primary focus will be ensuring the delivery of high-quality, accurate, and engaging finance content for Money.ca. As a key member of our editorial team, you'll contribute to the development and execution of the money.ca content processes, working alongside a talented group of writers and editors. This role is instrumental in positioning Money.ca as a thought leader in the Canadian personal finance space.
This role would be ideal for someone with a greater than general knowledge of business or finance content. Examples include (but are not limited to) personal finance, investing, P&C insurance, taxes, estate planning, real estate, mortgages, banking, retirement planning and retail trends. This position can work from our hybrid office located in Midtown Toronto or remotely from our Vancouver or Montreal hubs.

**Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)**:Editing and Content**:

- Skillfully edit and fact-check articles based on various publication timelines
- Ensure adherence to editorial standards and style guide requirements
- Edit content pieces based on various goals/strategies with an eye to editorial integrity
- Review and analyze data related to published content to improve the editorial process and output
- Write articles, as required

**Communication and Collaboration**:

- Manage inter-departmental needs, communicate with freelance and in-house writers and editors
- Communicate gaps and opportunities with other content team members and help find potential solutions
- Work closely with other editors, demonstrating the ability to edit and publish high-quality work with mínimal oversight

**Planning and Organization**:

- Help develop and manage project and content calendars
- Monitor and manage editorial content schedule (that includes various types of content and goals)
- Work with SEO to develop better content and better procedures/processes

**Leadership and Mentorship**:

- Recruit and onboard potential writers, including industry experts and freelancers
- Mentor and guide in-house and freelance writers to improve their content, including providing feedback through one-on-one conversations

**Qualifications (Who You Are)**:

- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Finance, or a related field
- Proven experience in editing and content creation in a B2B or B2C setting, preferably in an area of finance (insurance, investing, loans, mortgages, personal finance, etc.)
- Familiarity with SEO best practices
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy and consistency
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- High degree of tact and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing technologies
