Kelowna, Canada Ramada Hotel and Conference Centre-Kelowna Full time

The Ramada Hotel in Kelowna is seeking an experienced Front Desk Agent. Previous Knowledge of Opera PMS system a plus.

Audit, balance and report on the various areas of the hotel (e.g. food and beverage outlets, rooms/front desk, etc.) to provide accurate, timely information and to ensure company and Hotel policies and procedures are followed and to prevent fraud. Responds in a professional and courteous manner to arriving, departing and in-house guests by providing accurate and timely information and services. Responds to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information and guest concerns.

Check in/out guests. Post charges and payments to guest accounts. Reconcile all guest service agents’ paperwork. Print and resolve rate discrepancies. Reconcile credit card totals to batch report and submit to credit card processor. Post room & tax. Print departing folios and distribute to guest rooms. Run close day on computer system and run back up. Separate night audit reports for accounting and management. Process all guest mail, messages and faxes by receiving, sorting notifying and distributing to mailboxes and to guests in order to ensure the information is received in a timely manner. Maintains the front desk log book to enhance the department communication, and communicates any problems to the next shift coming in and the supervisor.

Relates well to all kinds of people - builds appropriate rapport; builds constructive and effective relationships; uses diplomacy and tact; can defuse even high-tension situations comfortably.

Knowledge/Skills

Ability to operate personal computer, cash floats and calculator. Ability to compile facts and figures. Telephone and guest relations etiquette and skills. Excellent speech communication skills required to communicate with guests over the telephone. Excellent comprehension and literacy required for reading daily reports, numbers, etc.
