Brampton, Canada Dynacare Full time

Dynacare is currently searching for a Laboratory Assistant's to join the Histology team in Brampton, Ontario. **This is a full-time permanent evening position working Monday - Friday 6:00 pm - 2:00 am. Flexibility is required as hours may change **based** on operational needs and training.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensures that all samples are properly labeled and identified before testing
- Follows established protocol(s) for the handling of unsuitable samples
- Operates and troubleshoots complex instruments following department procedures
- Performs processing of samples in a timely manner as per departmental guidelines
- Performs simple non-interpretive testing procedures under the supervision of a qualified technologist
- Ensures that all abnormal, critical and STATS are processed as outlined in the department guidelines. May be required to follow-up on missing samples
- May require entry of results into company’s database
- Ensures all quality control checks and standards are maintained
- Ensures all inquiries and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner
- Instrument maintenance
- Reagent management
- Shipment deliveries
- Problem solving
- Archiving
- Documentation
- Other duties as assigned

**Must have**:

- Completion of secondary-school level education and a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program
- OSMT certification
- Experience providing exceptional, professional customer focused service in a demanding and frequently changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage, prioritize and collaborate in a team-oriented, high volume, time-sensitive environment
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level

**Nice to have**:

- Knowledge of AS400 Data Entry system/LIS
- Histology experience
