**Are YOU our next Lab Assistant?**

We’re looking for 2 Specimen Processing Laboratory Assistant's to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. As a Lab Assistant you will be responsible for processing of laboratory specimens and/or entering requisitions and/or results accurately and in a timely manner and ensure quality control checks and standards are run as required. Your contributions will make a difference and will greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone’s life.

These are permanent, full-time positions working on evening shift, Monday to Friday from **9:00 PM to 5:00 AM with rotational Saturday’s 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM**

**How YOU will make a difference**:

- Follows established protocol(s) in Specimen Processing
- Ensures that all samples are properly identified, data enter, and labeled
- Follows established protocol(s) for the handling of unsuitable samples
- Ensures all client inquiries and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner
- Other duties as assigned

**What YOU bring to the role**:

- Completion of secondary-school level education and a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program
- Experience providing exceptional, professional customer focused service in a demanding and frequently changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage, prioritize and collaborate in a team-oriented, high volume, time-sensitive environment
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level

**Nice to have**:

- Knowledge of AS400 Data Entry system/LIS

**Working Conditions**
- Normal office environment
- Medical laboratory environment
- Required walking with repetitive motions
- May sit or stand for prolonged period of time with extensive computer use
- Required to lift a maximum of 30 pounds as required
- Exposed to bio hazardous substances, temperature differences and noise variances
