This position is a part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).

In accordance with the Trust/Research Academic Staff Agreement, this position offers a comprehensive benefits package found on our Benefits Overview page and annual salary range of $58,210 to $80,050. This position has an approximate appointment of 12 months.

**Location**:Work primarily takes place at North Campus Edmonton.

**Position Summary**

This position provides leadership for the day-to-day operations of research projects, managing resources and processes and overseeing the strategic planning process for the short
- and long-term success of these projects, which include a 5-year, $6.25 million research project funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) in partnership with 6 federal and provincial government entities, 6 industrial partners, and 13 collaborating universities.

**Duties**
- Provides financial management including the management and control of project funds to ensure optimum use of financial resources;
- Builds and maintains relationships with existing and new partners from government agencies and industry;
- Acts as liaison with Research Services Office and Financial Services, and supports the preparation of funding agreements between NSERC, University of Alberta and partners;
- Organizes and prepares documentations for all workshops and meetings related to Alliance Grant project, including theme meetings, expert panel meetings and Program Advisory Board meetings;
- Assists in development, management and coordination of fund-raising activities and events; symposia, conferences and seminars;
- Prepares promotional materials and maintains project web site;
- Other related administrative duties.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- An MSc or PhD degree in an engineering or applied science discipline
- Demonstrated abilities to work under minimum supervision
- Knowledge of administrative structures of a research-intensive university
- Excellent written and oral technical communication skills, organizational and Interpersonal skills
- Financial management, analysis and reporting skills
- Proficiency in a computer environment and a working knowledge of various programs and
