A day in the role of a Restorative Aide at Dundurn Place Care Centre.

As a Restorative Aide at Dundurn Place Care Centre, you will be given high expectations, as well as an expectation to continue personal growth and professional growth. In this position, you will be gifted with a rewarding experience every day in the form of being able to see the exact impact you place on our residents.

This position is responsible for but not limited to:
The Restorative Aide reports to the Program Manager and is responsible for:

- Plan, implement and evaluate both individual and group restorative programs based on assessed needs and as assigned by the Supervisor - including personal hygiene, AROM, restorative eating, restorative walking, restorative transfers, bed mobility, toileting, dressing and grooming.- Assess and implement group exercise classes in long term care.- Complete documentation in Activity Pro and Point Click Care (RAI/MDS, care plans, progress notes, and initial assessments)- Set up and clean the activity area as necessary and transport residents to and from programs. Monitor the behavior and condition of residents during programs, and report any significant changes to the Supervisor and nursing staff as appropriate.- Maintain program and resident records according to department policy. Communicate participation by residents to registered staff.
- Work cooperatively with other departments to meet resident needs.

- Has successfully completed a training program in restorative care or is enrolled in such a program, or has successfully completed relevant training course provided at the Home by a qualified Therapist (Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist)- PSW Certification- CPR and First Aid qualifications- Computer literate- Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills- Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen, no older than 6 months, TB test results less than 6 months old, must be able to provide three supervisory references.
