**JOB SUMMARY**

***The Program Manager is responsible to oversee the engineering needs of Tier 2 customers products produced within Southmedic Inc. Implementing process improvements and practices that enable optimum production output to be achieved. This includes cost reduction, process optimization, quality improvements and scrap reduction.

**KEY DUTIES**

1. Improve manufacturing efficiency through elimination of waste.

2. Identify and deliver manufacturing costs reductions.

3. Recommend design and implement changes to current work cell, equipment and tooling

4. Assist and provide guidance to the development, design and builds of new manufacturing products, tools, and processes for Tier 2 customers

5. Improve the troubleshooting skills of production operatives and support functions.

6. Work with the Sales team on the development and presentation of quotes

7. Shall ensure that all business is performed with an attention to detail and are done in accordance with the Southmedic Quality System, mission and values

**Operational**
- Shall be accountable and responsible to have a thorough knowledge of the departmental operations.
- Works diligently with customers and the marketing group to ensure that their design requirements are met and are done in accordance with Southmedic Inc.’s philosophy.
- Oversees all drawings and technical information relating to these products.

***Reporting**

***The incumbent, while reporting to the Vice President of Tier 2 Engineering, must be able to interface with Tier 2 customers and all Southmedic management peers.

**DIMENSIONS OF THE POSITION**

*** **The incumbent must be an effective communicator capable of developing a good rapport with existing and potential customers. The incumbent must also possess excellent problem solving skills; good design aptitudes coupled with a strong background in production and assembly techniques, cognizant in product design and their specifications. The incumbent should possess a strong knowledge of product design and engineering techniques. The incumbent should possess excellent interpersonal skills.

**PROBLEM SOLVING RESPONSIBILITY**

***There is an infinite variety and diversity of products that the incumbent may be called upon to produce. The incumbent will be required to exercise problem-solving skills in order to develop products and overcome design obstacles, which will arise.
