The School of Indigenous Relations in the Faculty of Education and Health_ _at Laurentian University
rank of Assistant Professor. The preferred start date is January 1, 2024.

The faculty members will teach primarily in the Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work Program but may
will have the following essential qualifications:

- Indigenous (to Turtle Island) person with ties to their community
- Comprehensive understanding of Indigenous Worldviews and Frameworks
- Understanding of Indigenous (to Turtle Island) culture and traditions and its importance within
- Indigenous Social Work- PhD in Social Work or related field or be nearing completion of a PhD
- Relevant experience considered an asset
- MSW-level experience in relevant Social Work practice
- Eligible for registration in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
- Recent teaching experience at the university level
- Participation in research
- Evidence of very good research and scholarship with the potential to work collaboratively with

colleagues, secure funding support and build internal and external interdisciplinary or
intersectoral collaborations
- Commitment to promoting a diverse, inclusive and vibrant academic and work environment.
