**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Total Compensation the incumbent is responsible for coordinating the processing, monitoring and reporting of all data, as it relates to compensation, benefit and pension.

The incumbent must ensure compliance with the Collective Agreements, Terms and Conditions of Employment, College Policies and Procedures and Provincial legislation.

The incumbent monitors and provides data and potential solutions for ongoing liability issues. The incumbent works with the Senior Total Compensation Specialist to maintain Pay Equity.

The incumbent also assists College Administrative staff in matters involving the implementation, interpretation, and administration of the Collective Agreements, and Conditions of Employment where such matters require the collection, storage, retrieval and use of data and information.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a four (4) year Undergraduate degree, preferably in Human Resources or equivalent as determined by the manager;- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;- Previous relevant experience interpreting policies, directives, collective agreements and Provincial legislation;- Previous experience working in a Human Resources Department within a unionized environment;- Previous experience working in Compensation/Payroll;- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), CEBS, PCP is an asset;- Comprehensive knowledge and interpretation of Collective Agreements and Terms and Conditions of Employment, the Income Tax Act and related guidelines;- Software knowledge, including excel, Word, applicable Human Resources Management System;- A significant degree of judgement;- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight and conflicting deadlines;- High degree of accuracy in providing information, working with figures and with employee records;- Ability to work independently to make decisions as well as within a team;- Ability to work with employees in stressful situations;- Above average conflict resolution skills in order to deal with staff/retiree problems and or complaints;- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills;- Since the incumbent regularly interacts with employees on personal issues and concerns, the incumbent must possess tact, sensitivity, empathy and diplomacy;- Excellent time management skills, client service skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement in handling enquiries and excellent listening skills;- Presentation skills.
