Reporting to the Production Manager, the Material Handler is responsible for picking, packing, and shipping customer orders, pick production and assembly orders, as well as counting, verifying, receiving, and putting away vendor material and customer returns in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining an organized and tidy warehouse and stock environment.

**Essential Functions Statement(s)**
- Work from written or verbal instructions from the Production Manager, ERP generated picking documents and established work routines.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and shipments.
- Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas and manufacturing areas.
- Identify special order material and damaged material and store it in the proper location.
- Fulfill orders by picking and packaging necessary materials and preparing them for shipment.
- Assemble and put away kits as per ERP instructions.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and carts to move and deliver equipment.
- Perform cycle counting, ensuring accurate count.
- Inform the Production Manager of potential production or material concerns, including delays in shipment.
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness and safety by removing empty boxes, metal banding, pallets, and other debris.
- Comply with all warehouse safety regulations & guidelines.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Production Manager.

**POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**
Competency Statement(s):

- Ability to read and interpret written instructions.
- Ability to work with manual and power tools.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
- Basic understanding of warehouse management concepts.
- Fluency in both English and French is a mandatory requirement.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Secondary education.
- Minimum 3 to 6 months of experience is a similar position.
- Valid forklift truck operator license.
- Prior experience loading and unloading dry vans and flatbed trucks.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**

Environmentally-friendly shop and warehouse location. Cement floors, daylight, seasonally adjusted temperatures. Overhead cranes, moving forklifts on a constant basis. Welding arcs on an occasional basis. Exposure to paints, solvents, degreaser, adhesives/sealants and oil.
