Stonefields Estate Inc. is an award-winning wedding venue nestled into the grounds of a heritage farm in Carleton Place. We are renowned for our scenic beauty, rustic elegance, exquisite cuisine, white-glove service and loving attention to detail.

We are currently looking for a seasonal, full-time Prep Cook for our kitchen. We offer competitive wages, a positive work environment and some of the finest ingredients to work with. This role has a big emphasis on teamwork and finesse with a driven group of individuals. Events are a very customized part of our business each week.

As a cook/prep cook you are required to provide the highest standard of service with our guests in mind. At Stonefields we are creating the perfect day for every couple, their family, and friends.

This is a seasonal position with the potential to become permanent, in which the employee will be required to work weekends, holidays, days, and evenings. The season starts immediately and ends November 2024. Employees are expected to commit to a full season upon hiring.

As a wedding venue we can execute up to 220-person seated events. We provide excellence in food and service.

**Responsibilities**:

- Reporting to the Executive Chef/Sous Chef
- Complete prep as requested/required. Note and report any out-of-stock items or possible shortages.
- Operate, maintain, and thoroughly clean all kitchen appliances, deep fryer, stove, ovens, food processor, mixer, slicer, etc.
- Ensure rotation of stock and the storage of all food items in accordance with health & safety regulations.
- Assist as requested with the reception & storage of food orders.
- Perform opening and closing duties applicable to the position.
- Ensures that food is prepared according to standardized recipes and specifications to maintain consistency and ensure all quality standards and food cost standards are met.
- Ensures that all food products are handled, stored, prepared, and served safely in accordance with Food Safety guidelines.
- Ensures that the kitchen work area is clean, organized and that the equipment is functional.
- Responsible for working effectively and efficiently and to engage in positive employee morale and employee engagement.
- Physical demands include lifting, bending, stretching, and long hours standing/walking.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 2-3 years cooking experience including high-end high-volume hotels and catering.
- Food Handler Certificate required (can be completed after hire)
- Must have experience and be proficient in both a la carte and production cooking.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be innovative, detail-oriented and quality driven.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
