The Sakihiwewin Program Manager will oversee and develop the strategic priorities currently identified and create future priorities. Responsibilities include management of the Sakihiwewin Client Advocate Program and oversight of related service agreements. This is an innovative role, supporting the development of KIM and the Northern Regional Health’s partnership to address Indigenous specific racism in health care services.
- A level of education equivalent to a diploma or degree in social work, nursing, social sciences, or another health discipline, or a level of training and experience in a relevant field with extensive understanding of Indigenous specific racism and the health care system.
- Project Management experience including experience with project or program budgets and evaluation.
- Experience working collaboratively with various health organizations including health centre, nursing stations, and regional health authorities.
- Experience working in a health care setting with complaint resolution processes and/or in a patient-facing role is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of case management and system navigation models and principles.
- Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to navigate and facilitate anti-racism discussions and de-escalate situations in real-time. Must utilize a trauma-informed lens and have a strong understanding of power differences.
- Ability to promote patient-focused care that demonstrates care for and with patients and families.
- Experience leading a team is considered an asset.
- Familiarity of medical terminology or completion of a medical terminology course is considered an asset.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate business professionalism.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to advocate,
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to set priorities, handle multiple tasks, work independently, and as part of a team.
- The ability to speak one of the Northern First Nations languages is an asset.

**The following are considered conditions of employment**:

- Satisfactory criminal record/vulnerable persons/child abuse registry checks will be required.
- Must be able to travel to First Nations communities, throughout Northern Manitoba, and to Winnipeg on occasion with appropriate notice.
- Successful completion of Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) training will be required.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $105,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
