**Residential Supervisor**:
- Contract (1 year) Full Time Management Position (36 hours per week)-possibility of becoming permanent
Nipissing Transition House is a 20 bed shelter dedicated to ending violence against women. Emergency shelter services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and include telephone support. Counselling and housing assistance is also available.
Under the general supervision of the Executive Director the **Residential Supervisor** ensures quality care to clients by providing oversight and management of the daily operation of the program. This includes but is not limited to Health and Safety, ensures Policies and Procedures are up to date and are followed, program evaluation etc. This position works with the Executive Director to ensure the programs and activities are consistent with the vision and mission of the Organization. The Residential Supervisor participates in staff scheduling, supervision and evaluation. This position will require flexible hours including some week nights and weekends as well as on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis.
**Requirements**:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or a diploma in Social Sciences, Social Work or other relevant fields.
- A minimum of 2 years management experience.
- Experience in supervision within a unionized environment is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence individuals and teams in the context of
change, toward a vision/mission while maintaining group cohesiveness, motivation,
commitment and effectiveness: strong leadership abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive and welcoming employment environment that
values each individual; respects their values, preferences and unique abilities.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent consultation,
change management, conflict resolution, negotiation and mediation skills.
- Demonstrated computer use skills
- Demonstrated time management skills and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to establish courses of action for self, be self-aware, understand
your need for training and initiate training; always being willing to learn
- Demonstrated understanding of intimate partner violence, gender-based violence and its
effects on women and children.
- Demonstrated professional behaviour and respect for boundaries in diverse work.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Ability to promote services to clients and community at large
- Use of personal vehicle for meetings is required (with compensation)
