The Client Solutions Center (CSC) is responsible for the development and distribution of wealth and insurance products to new clients and by leveraging relationships in our Group Benefits (GB), Group Retirement Services (GRS), and Individual business units in the segments of Group Members In Plan (Welcome, Voluntary Benefits), Transition/Rollover, and Direct Markets (Sun Life Go). In collaboration with the SLF Canada business unit leaders, CSC develops longer-term business strategies and operating plans to capture new sources of revenue and promote lifetime client relationships.

The CSC Product & Pricing Team is accountable for developing, leading, and executing on the Client Solutions product mandate for all Life, Health and Wealth activities in Client Solutions through our various channels. The ultimate purpose of this team is to ensure we have a product portfolio that answers our clients needs, is competitive and compliant in the marketplace while maximizing profitability.

Reporting to the Director and working alongside other Product Managers, the incumbent will focus on product management and development functions for the insurance portfolio.

The incumbent will have a relentless focus on ensuring the client is at the core of everything we do.

**What will you do?**

This is an individual contributor role reporting to Product Director, insurance and wealth solutions, CXO Product & Pricing. The accountabilities of this role fall into two main areas, Product Development and Product Management:
Product Development:

- Identify and assess opportunities for new products or changes to existing offer
- Perform competitive analysis regularly to ensure our solutions are relevant and to evolve our solutions for long term sustainability
- Develop and implement new product features and services to meet the needs of our Clients, address upcoming trends and stay ahead of competition
- Facilitate strategic thinking sessions with the aim to identify differentiated and innovative solutions for the marketplace
- Develop design briefs for new product ideas, including product specifications to present a clear, focused concept for consideration

Product Management
- Manage existing product solutions and ensure they remain relevant, competitive and valuable for clients
- Ensure product solutions meet ongoing sales and profitability goals, and abide by the appropriate regulatory framework
- Complete required product reporting and maintenance to ensure compliance with government regulations
- Review sales and promotion collateral for product accuracy; work with Sales and marketing teams to develop marketing, education, communication and promotional material for all audiences
- Analyze product sales data, including industry data to identify trends and impact of competitor market activities
- Analyze and manage the impact of internal and legislative changes on our solutions
- Support sales team responses to exception requests and RFPs (request for proposal)
- Work closely with product teams within GB and Insurance Solutions to ensure alignment across Sun Life’s offering

**What do you need to succeed?**
- Strong client focus and understanding of the life and health insurance market
- 5-8 years experience in insurance industry
- Insurance product knowledge, previous product development experience
- Experience with revenue generation and good understanding of the financial dynamics of product development
- Passion to challenge the status quo, find new solutions and drive out-of-the-box ideas.
- An experimental mindset to drive innovation.
- Solid project management skills
- Effective presenter, with ability to influence
- Proven orientation to results and actions and a demonstrated ability to execute
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills (collaborating, questioning, listening, writing, observing) and strong influencer
- Solid ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure work is delivered on time and on budget
- Exceptional client focus orientation with an ability to find client insights through analysis
- Direct knowledge of and experience with product development ; experience to be able to launch products in a multi-channel environment
- Broad business acumen, strong decision making skills and risk management techniques
- Strong skills using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- University degree with a focus on insurance or bus
