Payroll Administrator

As part of the Shared Services team, the Payroll Administrator will be responsible for preparing, assisting, and entering data into our HRIS/Payroll system and other various systems. The role requires systems knowledge and helps to ensure corporate policy, regulations and service standards are adhered to while processing daily HR and Payroll activities
- Acts as liaison between Shared Services, HR/Payroll for general enquiries
- Verifies and enters current field employee status changes into the HRIS system including but not limited to new hires, rehires, change of status, terminations, and changes in personal information and banking information
- Communicates and follow up with field projects to obtain accurate employee paperwork in a timely manner.
- Maintains confidentiality with regards to employee relations and organizational changes, protecting the security of information, data, and files
- Communicates with Business Unit to follow up, clarify information or resolve issues and discrepancies - liaises with Business Unit and management for resolution
- Maintains effective working relationships with the direct team and maintains strong relationships with key members of the Business Units
- Accurately process hourly payroll for multiple business units
- Process and validate payroll deductions, garnishments and adjustments and perform entries into company payroll system
- Assisting year end reporting, including T4’s, RL-1, vacation accrual, adjustments, etc.
- Export, validate, balance and import hours from timekeeping systems and into payroll system
- Maintenance and renewals for Retirement Savings, Pensions and 401(k) plans, including matching calculations
**Education**:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Administration or related disciplines
Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Human Resources Administrative role in a Shared Services environment
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to process high volume transactions
- Experience in organizations undergoing change or rapid growth
- Experience working in projects in multi-country operations
- Experience working on ADP software and experience in ERP systems Oracle
- Active member with the Canadian Payroll Association, working towards PCP designation
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-changing and dynamic environment with evolving systems and procedure
