Reporting to the Manager, Plan Specialists, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive customer service in relation to pension via in-person appointments, telephone calls and online. You will also investigate, calculate and verify complex pension cases. You role will include presenting pension seminars in group settings to discuss plan options and administrative practices. You will work closely on a team who also collaborates with other departments.

**Here’s the exciting journey**:

- In the first year you will:_
- Provide support to the team with the administration of our five pension and benefit plans. A pension and benefits background will help you manage the challenging learning curve. If you come from the financial industry, your strong mathematical aptitude and keen attention to detail will help you to excel in this role.
- Become experienced with the many calculations performed within Pension Services and work with the team to ensure that they are accurate, consistent and timely.
- Work closely with our Pension Administrators to support the timely and accurate completion of the various processes within the Pension Department.
- Begin meeting with members to provide information on their retirement options.
- Attend presentations to members on the Pension and Benefit Plans; moving towards delivering these presentations as you continue to build strong and trusting member relations.

**Your qualifications**:

- Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Math, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or Finance along with a commitment to continuing education in the pension and benefits fields.
- Certified Employee Benefit Specialist designation (CEBS) and working towards the completion of the Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC).
- Ideally a minimum of three to five years’ experience providing superior customer service in the pension field. Delivery of group presentations would be considered an asset.
- A working knowledge of the _Pension Benefits Act_, Manitoba and the _Income Tax Act_.
- Superior verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent critical thinking skills including problem solving and analytical thinking.
- Committed team player.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Occasional travel within Manitoba may be required
