**Job Summary**

**Weekends or other days of the week dependent on calendar of events.**

**Responsibilities**
- Provide direct support and guidance to children in various settings, including after-school programs, community centers, or residential facilities.
- Develop and implement educational activities that promote learning and personal growth.
- Foster positive relationships with youth by being approachable, understanding, and empathetic.
- Monitor and document the progress of each child, providing feedback to parents or guardians as necessary.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive program that meets the diverse needs of all participants.
- Facilitate group discussions and activities that encourage teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care by adhering to established policies and procedures.

**Requirements**:

- Currently Enrolled in High School/University/College or have a degree/diploma in a related field (Education, Child Care, Recreation, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology etc.)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with youth from diverse backgrounds.
- A genuine interest in educating and mentoring young people.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
- A background check and child abuse check required prior to employment.

**Assets**:

- Class 5 Driver's License
- First Aid CPR
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification
- Knowledge of Inner-City Issues
- Experience living in the West Broadway area

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week

- Winnipeg, MB R3C 0G6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
