**Summary of Responsibilities**:

- The Institute for Mental Health Research (IMHR) at The Royal Ottawa Hospital specializes in mental health research across a variety of areas including mood disorders, suicide prevention, sleep disorders, schizophrenia, stress and trauma, and youth mental health. The Royal’s Brain Imaging Centre (BIC) is a state-of-the art research facility featuring a PET/MRI scanner, the first of its kind in Canada dedicated solely to support mental health research.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Must have the ability to carry out all major responsibilities as outlined below:

- ** Implementation** (**10**0**%)**:

- In collaboration with the platform developer, bring together a large team of researchers from multiple disciplines and integrate their needs to create a joint vision for the Brain-Heart Registry.
- Gather requirements and assist in planning of the Brain-Heart Registry.
- Act as a point of communication between the platform developer and the end users to ensure development and workflows meet the requirements of all vested researchers.
- Implement standard pipelines for quality control and processing.
- Facilitate training, testing and validation for the end users.
- Develop local SOPs, policies and procedures and system documentation for user sites.
- Implement required local hardware infrastructure.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Informatics or related field with a strong computing background OR Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computational Sciences with experience in clinical research
- 2-5 years related experience
- Knowledge of research data capture platforms (e.g. REDCap, XNAT)
- Broad understanding of clinical research in an academic or hospital setting.
- Knowledge of data management standards and best practices.
- Strong database and programming/scripting skills, including working knowledge of SQL and either R or Python. Experience with developing shell scripts an asset.
- Experience with developing interactive dashboards an asset, e.g. using Tableau, Power BI, or other business intelligence or visualization software.
- Knowledge and experience working with imaging (e.g. MRI), proteomics and/or genetics data.
- Experience with the software development life-cycle from planning through deployment and maintenance an asset.
- Experience with using informatics platforms for clinical research.
- Understanding of ethics, regulatory, privacy and security requirements associated with clinical research an asset.

- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage the needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders.
- Strong teaching skills.
