Social Enterprise for Canada(SEC) is a progressive charitable organization, dedicated to creating communities that exemplify Canadian values. SEC maintains it head office in Newmarket and provides direct human services for multiple programs, which include Supervised Access, EarlyON Child & Family Centres, Welcome Centre for Immigrant Services - Newmarket and numerous Before & After school and licensed Childcare programs; providing excellence in delivery, through customer focus and high satisfaction, high impact and operational efficiency.

**The Opportunity**

EarlyOn Child and Family Centres work collaboratively with partnerships to provide excellent customer service and high quality, engaging programs. Developing relationships with families and their young children is a focus in facilitating parent workshops and working with community partners. The ELS I is responsible for providing safe and caring programs, in virtual and face to face environments including four season outdoor programming for children and families. As an ELS I you will be responsible for providing engaging programming and implementation of children’s programs; facilitating various activities that promote physical activity, healthy eating and nutrition, positive personal development and wellness. In addition, you have the ability to incorporate” How does Learning Happen?” in a meaningful and deliberate approach. You will be comfortable in appropriately providing support to families to help them their understanding of how their child develops through play. **Key Job Responsibilities**
- Understanding of core programs with ability to effectively facilitate a variety of related activities that are aimed at engaging participants in the four foundations of HDLH and life-long learning, on site or in virtual program delivery
- Ability to deliver programs to meet identified KPI/Outcomes
- Plan for and implement an inquiry based emergent curriculum based on children’s individual interests and needs
- Ability to use observation and documentation to plan programs and share knowledge of inquiry based learning to engage parents and caregivers
- Ensure a caring, stimulating and inclusive environment for the children and families attending the program
- Offer appropriate strategies that support families in managing their child’s behaviour and development
- Identify opportunities to promote additional resources through handouts, sharing information, and documentation of learning in programs or videos
- making appropriate referrals and participant follow up while maintaining accurate records for data collection
- Ability to respond to individual needs of participants while maintaining confidentiality
- Ensure the health and safety of participants during service delivery
- Responsible for the cleaning and tidying of the facility and be responsible for the safe storage of equipment, maintaining that all equipment is in good working order prior/after usage
- Maintain all standards related to division and organization policies and procedures, Public Health Guidelines and JHSC requirements
- Has a mindset of continuous professional development
- Report on a regular basis to Operations Supervisor regarding issues of need and/or concern and offer suggestions to ensure excellence of self, team and programs
- Maintain all required records, forms and reports, meeting established time frames
- Collaborate with and maintain all community related partnerships as required/directed
- Demonstrate an understanding of the SEC organization
- Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required
- Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Early Childhood Education (RECE) or related field and/or experience
- Maintain a Current Registration with the College of ECE (RECE)

- Good organizational, time management and prioritization skills
- Knowledge of MS Office and/or aptitude for learning, tools to support job delivery eg. WIW, Trello, tablets, data tracking, zoom platform, adobe spark, Canva
- Strong knowledge and implementation of child development theories and practices
- Customer driven with the ability to determine customer needs in both face to face and virtual programming
- Able to work as a contributing team member in a dynamic, complex environment with partners, clients, staff and the public
- Established comfort in effectively performing job duties with minimum supervision and colleague directives
