**How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team**:
The Education Interpreter & Site Representative delivers hands-on education outdoor environmental programs in the Region of Peel.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Guides visitors to TRCA’s sites and facilities and programs and work within school settings.
- Learns program content to be able to effectively deliver interactive programs to various audiences. Delivers high quality interactive programming to client groups in the Region of Peel focused on curriculum linked educational programs and high school youth programs. These include Watershed on Wheels, Native Plants Program, Girls Can Too and the Conservation Youth Corps program.
- Opens and securely closes site/facility as required following TRCA protocols and initiates emergency protocols when needed

**What will you need to succeed**:

- Minimum pursuing a post-secondary diploma or degree in Recreation, Outdoor Recreation, Education, or a related field
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C Certification
- 2+ years of experience delivering outdoor recreation programs for audiences of varying age groups
- Ability to communicate effectively with tact and courtesy
- Knowledge of the environment and related disciplines
- Ability to deliver programs/information to audiences of various ages, adapting style to ensure audience appropriateness
- Demonstrated aptitude for organization and time management
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise communication in both non-emergency and emergency situations
- Ability to work independently and take initiative within a set of guidelines and procedures, and to take direction and notes when given
- Effective customer services skills, with the ability to use judgement to address unexpected situations
- Proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams, WebEx, and SharePoint
- Must be flexible to work all required shifts, including weekends and holidays, as well as overnight work including successive days. Most shifts in this position will take place on weekends.
