Analyst, Capital Markets Portfolio Strategy

Reporting to the Director, Capital Markets Portfolio Strategy, the primary focus of Analyst is to provide support in the development of Capital Markets overall strategy. This may include activities relating to capital allocation, investment strategy, portfolio design, performance evaluation, business model best practices, operating plan development and investment & thematic research.

**Responsibilities**:
Perform data analysis to profile the overall portfolio including details pertaining to use of capital, leverage, expected returns, risk and diversification
Assist in providing portfolio breakdown of underlying investment programs and strategies
Contribute to a document outlining Capital Markets overall strategy that will touch on investment strategy, investment approach, portfolio design and ESG strategy
Consolidate and organize data and strategic inputs from all investment programs as part of the annual operating plan development process
Provide support in analysis relating to periodic reviews of operating/business model
Conduct research relating to public market investment strategies/approaches and/or thematic long-term trends
Collaborate with teams across the organization to syndicate / validate analysis and insights
Maintain databases, presentations, and tools for the Capital Markets Portfolio Strategy team
Manage competing priorities and support the initiatives of the team as needed

**To succeed in the role you have**:
Strong academic background combined with 1-4 years professional experience working in investment management, management consulting, performance reporting and/or financial services/asset management
Some knowledge in asset allocation, broad range of investment securities and operating models of investment management firms
Ability to synthesize complex topics into presentations for senior management or leadership
Detail-oriented and innately curious with an interest in staying ahead of trends and continually learning about new topics
A high attention to detail that complements your ability to see the big picture
Proficiency of MS Excel and PowerPoint
Familiarity with financial database software such as FactSet, Bloomberg is an asset
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships across OMERS
Ability to prioritize among several tasks while delivering high-quality products within deadlines
A willingness to act with a high degree of initiative and ability to deliver results
Ability to contribute to and foster a collegial and creative team culture
Humility and self-awareness, values feedback, invites and integrates different perspectives
