**Depot Attendant / Heavy Equipment Operator - Job description**

Since 1991, TRY Recycling Inc. has been operating as a multi-purpose facility providing collection and processing of construction and demolition waste for the province of Ontario, along with the composting of leaf and yard waste. **Location**: 28 Clarke Rd South and 1450 Oxford West - flexibility to work at both London Enviro Depots

**Position**: Part time up to 25 hours per week, must have weekend availability, seasonal

**Hourly Rate**:$15.50 Depot Attendant /$18.00 Heavy Equipment Operator

**Hours of Operation**: Monday to Friday 10am - 7pm, Saturday 8am - 5pm and Sunday 11am - 5pm
- **Job Summary**

As a depot attendant, your key responsibilities are to ensure clients are welcomed to the site. The attendant evaluates materials being brought into the depot and directs clients to the appropriate area in the yard to dispose of their materials. The Depot attendant will also need to ensure client safety at all times. Assisting clients with their loads as required.

**Qualifications, Skills & Responsibilities**
- Must enjoy working outdoors, in all weather conditions.
- A minimum of two years of proven customer service experience
- Solid understanding of client service practices and techniques.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience as an Equipment Operator (backhoe and loader knowledge)
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage
- Professional demeanor under stressful situations
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
- Demonstrated a high level of professionalism, personal integrity, and strong work ethic
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
- Confident, consistent, and decisive personality
- Excellent communication written and verbal skills
- Resourceful and adapts quickly to changing situations
- Enforcement of safety rules and is always aware of clients and surroundings

**Work Environment**

While performing the duties of this job, the depot attendant is regularly exposed to moving vehicles, both small and large, odors and airborne particles. They will be exposed to varying weather conditions.

**Physical Demands**
- Regularly required to stand for long periods of time
- Manually perform daily tasks (pick up materials, sweep etc.)
- Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Unload trailers from time to time.
- Regularly required to lift up to 51 pounds
