**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs, using cost estimation software and historical data.
- Perform quantity takeoffs by analyzing project drawings, specifications, and other documents to determine the quantities of materials and resources required.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, providing forecasts for project costs, contingencies, and potential variations.
- Analyze project plans and documents to identify cost drivers, potential risks, and opportunities for cost savings or value engineering.
- Prepare bid packages, including detailed cost breakdowns, bills of quantities, and procurement strategies for subcontractor and vendor selection.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, tracking actual expenditures, and comparing them to the budgeted costs. Implement cost control measures when necessary.
- Collaborate with project teams to explore cost-effective alternatives and value engineering opportunities without compromising quality or project goals.
- Review and assess construction contracts to ensure alignment with cost estimates, budgets, and change order processes.
- Evaluate and process change orders by analyzing their impact on project costs and providing recommendations for approval.
- Prepare and provide regular cost reports to project management and stakeholders, highlighting key cost elements, variances, and potential issues.
- Maintain a comprehensive cost database of materials, labor, and equipment prices to facilitate accurate and up-to-date cost estimates.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for cost recovery, claims management, and dispute resolution, working with legal and claims management professionals when necessary.

**Key Qualifications/Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in cost planning, cost estimation, or quantity surveying in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and practices.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software, such as RSMeans, ProEst, or similar tools.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional project teams.
- Analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
