**_EveryMind Mental Health Services _**is currently recruiting for a skilled, experienced, and enthusiastic mental health professional for the fee for service contractor position of **Mental Health Specialist** to provide support as part of the Specialized Consultation Team (SCT).

**_ _**_EveryMind _**is an accredited child and youth mental health organization that provides a continuum of high-quality mental health services for children, youth and their families who are experiencing or are at risk of experiencing mental health, social, emotional and/or behavioural challenges. The Mental Health Specialist will provide consultation **primarily** to Peel Inclusion Resources Services (PIRS) Resource Consultants who support licensed childcare centres and licensed home childcare, and EarlyON Child Development Supports (CDS) Resource Consultants across Special Needs Resourcing agencies located in Peel Region.

**This is a fee for service contractor position from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025. Set hours per week are not guaranteed. The incumbent will work an average of 40 hours per month, up to 100 hours per month at the maximum. The hourly rate for this fee for service position is $48/hourly **and the incumbent is paid based on monthly invoices submitted to the organization.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide up to 100 hours monthly (currently an average of 40 hours) of mental health consultation to PIRS Resource Consultants [MD1] who support licensed childcare centres and licensed home childcare, and EarlyON Child Development Supports (CDS) Resource Consultants located in Peel region. Hours are not guaranteed and based on the needs of the program.
- Mental health consultations include travel to on-site visits to licensed childcare centres [MD2] and licensed home childcare sites for observations and/or meetings, virtual, or phone consultations.
- Collaborate with other professional disciplines in the specialized consultation team to support centre/client needs.
- Adhere to timelines as outlined by the Region of Peel SCT Guidelines
- Attend quarterly meetings chaired by the Region of Peel and attended by all disciplines of the SCT.
- Research and develop content with the support of the supervisor, and provide in person or recorded workshops 2-4 times annually on topics provided by the Region of Peel with a target audience of Resource Consultants
- Track hours and submit monthly to the Supervisor, Clinical Services
- Participate and contribute to program development and program evaluation.
- Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings, peer consultations and supervision as needed.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology or health related field with a minimum of three years’ experience in direct service to children and families **OR** Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work/ health related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience;
- Be a member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills with experience in delivering services in person, on the phone, and on virtual platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in group facilitation and creating content for workshops and groups.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and awareness in working with clients of diverse background.
- Strong knowledge of MS-Office and platforms for workshop facilitation (i.e Zoom)
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills to manage own schedule for booking consultations.
- Proficiency in languages in addition to English is an asset.
- Have a valid Ontario Driver’s license (Full G Class), use of a vehicle with comfort in driving throughout the Peel region (and surrounding areas);
- A Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check and Pre-Employment Medical screening (including TB test, MMR, TD, Polio, Covid-19 vaccination), is required.
