**Position Summary**:
Working within multi-disciplinary consultant school-linked teams, the Adaptive Physical Education Consultant provides consultative support to safely accommodate and include students with moderate to severe physical challenges in movement activities.

**Job Duties/Responsibilities**:

- administering assessments to evaluate current level of physical status, functional mobility, participation and equipment needs of students
- providing specific suggestions to optimize posture, promote endurance, strength and mobility
- providing functional strategies to enhance active participation in physical education, recess and movement activities
- identifying student's strengths and areas of needs, determining measurable goals and objectives and adapting and modifying strategies to support student success
- providing motor skills assessments and programming recommendations to address curriculum outcomes for students with moderate to severe delays
- promoting physical activity to enhance the mental and physical health and wellness of students
- assisting students with developing physical literacy skills to enable them to pursue an active lifestyle
- modelling and facilitating physical education programming for students with gross motor or other developmental challenges
- providing professional development to meet the needs of schools

**Education/Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education
- certification or coursework related to adaptive physical activity
- minimum of three years related experience in school settings
- experience working with students with complex needs
- excellent communication, collaboration and consultative skills

**Rate of Pay**:
$2,079.00 - $2,659.02 bi-weekly

**Closing**:
