Safety Coordinator

King Freight Lines is looking for an experienced Safety Coordinator for our Pictou, NS Terminal.

Applicant should have an excelent understanding of the trucking industry, hours of service and Compliance.

Applicant must be proficient in Hours of service for Canada and US, knowledge of Omnitracs, Shaw and Truckmate would be highly advantagous.

Job duties include but are not limited to:
Test drive potential drivers, Class 1 License required

Schedule all required training for staff. Track and update expiry dates.

Assist in the management of WCB claims and return to work.

Create or modify sffety manuals, drivers manual, procedures and any other required documents.

Maintain a satisfactory safety rating

Ensure every incident is recorded, documented and follow up conducted including coordinating with the shop and insurance companies regarding cost recovery for incidents. Provide regular status updates to management regarding status and cost recovery efforts.

Lead the OHS committee and ensure compliance.

Responsible for the registrations of all units.

Responsible for the company insurance updates

2-5 years experience is required in a Safety role in the transportation industry.

Applicant must live in the Pictou area and be able to commute to work. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada without sponsorship.
