The **LEAD, COMMUNITY INITIATIVES** will develop and execute on opportunities that foster a well-connected community, activate the Platform Innovation Centre where Calgary’s tech sector gathers, accelerate network connections, and help to make Calgary one of Canada’s top tech talent markets: diverse, inclusive and highly skilled. You are an individual passionate about creating measurable impact and building community by helping people meet and learn from each other. You will be responsible for identifying synergies and engaging with potential collaborators, from peer to peer meetup groups, to education partners, to volunteers.
**The day-to-day activities of the LEAD, COMMUNITY INITIATIVES will include**:
- Support the Director, Community in the development of the overall community engagement strategy (Platform signature initiatives such as Innovation Week and partner-driven activations).
- Along with Lead, Events, support and participate in the design, plan and execution of Platform-hosted and community-wide initiatives such as Innovation Week.
- Develop, build, launch and manage a community volunteer program, including benchmarking of activities and development of an evaluation framework to track and report on success.
- Develop, build and manage peer to peer/meetup support programs, including benchmarking of activities and development of an evaluation framework to track and report on success.
- Support the Director, Community to continue to build on and expand on the programs and events established to date in the talent pillar at Platform (Tech Talent Tuesday, Discover Tech YYC, 10X Scholarship etc).
- Project management for ongoing initiatives to support the Community team.
- Experience in a related position, recognized as a community-and consensus-builder, and works to create a collaborative environment.
- A combination of education and experience in Community Development, Organizational Behaviour or Marketing.
- Proven track record of building and engaging community: knowledge of community development principles and practices, outcome measurement processes, and collective impact
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Courteous, warm and enthusiastic verbal and written communications.

**Platform Calgary perks**:
- **Salary Range**: $65,000 to $75,000
