Summer Youth Worker

Position Summary

Reporting to the Children’s Program Coordinator, the Summer Youth Worker is a seasonal position responsible for assisting in the delivery of Family and Community Support Services programming to children of Yellowhead County.

Position Responsibilities

**Program Implementation-80%**
- Prepare facilities for programming;
- Organize and prepare supplies for planned activities;
- Assist in program delivery for summer camps in various locations throughout Yellowhead County;
- Ensure the health and safety of program participants;
**Administration-20%**
- Assist with program advertising;
- Ensure appropriate paperwork is completed by program participants prior to program start;
- Maintain a record of daily program activities providing recommendations for future program improvement;
- Assist in program evaluation through feedback of participants, stakeholders and partners;
- Complete weekly reflections and program review;
- Inventory, sanitize, and store summer program supplies; and
- Complete all other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum completion of Grade 9 required;
- Child minding experience considered an asset;
- Physical aptitude and ability to safely lift to a maximum of 25lbs; and
- Good communication and organizational skills.

**Working Environment**
- Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors with potential exposure to adverse weather; and
- Hours of work are variable dependent on program needs.

**The hourly wage is $16.67 to $18.20.**
**This is a seasonal position from approximately July 2, 2024 to August 30, 2024.**
**Position will be based in Wildwood.**

**You will be required to submit a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector if over 18.**
