ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
As a member of the Household Team, your primary responsibility is to get to know our residents and establish a relationship with them and their families. Your goal is to nurture, support and protect residents by preparing nutritious meals and snacks, participating in activities of daily living, assisting with personal care and participating in and leading social activities.

Professional Abilities and Qualifications:

- Medication Management certificate is required.
- Food Handler’s permit.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with older adults who live with memory loss or early signs of Alzheimer’s.
- Experience in meal preparation and live-in caregiver duties is preferred.
- Willing and able to share a personal interest such as singing, painting, dancing, gardening etc. with residents.
- Flexible in both work schedules and job duties.
- Able to work weekends and holidays.
- Possess relevant training in First Aid and CPR, WHMIS and infection control procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for daily light meal preparation on the Memory Care floor.
- Follow proper infection control procedures.
- Liaise with the Executive Chef to ensure household pantries and fridges are stocked.
- Assist with daily living activities including light housekeeping and laundry.
- Coordinate daily life enrichment activities to ensure residents are always engaged.
- Learn the history of each resident to support Credit River Residences person-centered care approach.
- Respond to emergencies as required.
- Report any maintenance services required in the household suites or common areas.
- Supervise and coordinate personal care services provided to residents.
- Assist Health and Wellness Manager with scheduling.
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System. This includes recognizing health and safety hazards, reporting incidents, fulfilling responsibilities under the applicable legislation, as well as participating in in-services and fire drills.
