**Description**

**Title**:Copywriter

**Location**:Ontario (Hybrid)

Just Energy is seeking a **Copywriter** to join the marketing team. The Copywriter is responsible for a wide range of marketing and digital communications including traditional and digital advertising, retail signage and collateral, website content, and more. This role reports to the Sr Marketing Manager and will work to create compelling sales and marketing copy for both digital and traditional mediums.

**Your key accountabilities**:

- Assist in brainstorming and developing creative concepts for marketing campaigns
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure that the copy aligns seamlessly with visual elements.
- Conduct research to understand target audiences and industry trends, incorporating findings into copywriting strategies.
- Edit and proofread copy to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Assist in maintaining content calendars and meeting project deadlines.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and continuously improve writing skills.

**Education and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, journalism, communications, or related field
- 2+ years of professional writing experience

**Skills & Other Requirements**:

- External or in-house agency experience in both digital and print copywriting.
- **Digital copywriting portfolio required.**
- Demonstrated career success in content strategy/content creation.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret content/style and brand guidelines.
- Excellent storytelling skills, impeccable grammar, and an ability to write specifically for a variety of platforms to engage distinct audiences.
- Ability to research, plan, write and edit copy on deadline.
- Proven ability to edit content for accuracy and completion.
- Excellent communication, presentation and persuasion skills; demonstrated success building buy-in for an innovative and bold strategic vision.
