Capital Paving has the in-house capacity to complete paving, grading, curb, sidewalk, structural concrete such as retaining wall and bridges, sewer and watermain installation, aggregate processing, asphalt manufacturing along with in-house material testing and equipment maintenance facility. **Position Overview**:
As an Asphalt Paver Tailend Operator, you will have the abilities to produce a quality laid Mat. The primary function of this position is to operate the screed of the Paver to achieve design specifications; grade and slope, thickness, with an excellent appearance and texture. As a Tailend Operator you will understand the key fundamentals of Asphalt Paving. This role is a key component to one of many roles forming an Asphalt Paving Crew. You will work within this Team environment to Pave a variety of projects such as MTO 400 series highways, Municipal roadways, pakring lots and trails. You will be required to join the union to be hired for this position.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate the Tailend of the Asphalt Paver to Place asphalt in accordance with job specifactions. Controlling Grade and Slope to Place a uniform smooth Mat. Operate the lower controls on the back of the paver controlling the material flow.
- Inspect the Asphalt Mat being placed and provide feedback to the Foreman making adjustments as required.
- Properly Setup Paver and Functions.
- Use of Construction Hand tools and small equipment.
- Adhere to quality workmanship standards set forth by the crew and company.
- Assist the crew in the Labour duties and Layout of the job site as directed by Paving Foreman.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to receive instruction and Execute Paving plans under the direction of Asphalt Foreman and Paving Manager.
- Previous experience as a Tailend Operator is a necessity.
- Team player and positive crew motivator.
- Strong understanding and enforcement of the Occupational Health and Safety Act on site.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, weekends, nights, etc.
- Valid G-Class Drivers License.
- Hands on Approach assisting in completion of paving tasks.
- Required to join the Union or continue in good standing.

**Salary**: $31.00-$34.00 per hour
