The Gerry & Nancy Pencer Brain Tumor Centre at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University Health Network, is Canada’s largest, multi-disciplinary brain tumour centre. Our patient population are those patients diagnosed with a primary tumour of the brain. Our model of care strives to provide patients with state-of-the-art medical treatment in conjunction with enhanced supportive care and education for both patients and their families.

The Pencer Brain Tumor Centre offers an innovative Rehabilitation Consultant role. As an integral member of the inter-professional team, the Rehabilitation consultant acts as a clinical resource and leader in providing rehabilitation care for patients with brain tumours and their loved ones. The principal responsibilities include direct patient care while taking on a leadership role in providing direction, ongoing development and evaluation of the Rehabilitation Consultation service. Building on established networks, the Rehabilitation Consultant engages in professional outreach with internal and external partners to provide education and care coordination. As appropriate, you will act as a community resource for other clinicians and care partners. Key to your success is leveraging existing and developing further strategic partnerships to coordinate the right care at the right time across each patients’ unique experience. Demonstrating a commitment to professional lifelong learning by participating in continuing education activities to meet the needs of the program and performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- At minimum, completion of a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
- Member in good standing with the respective regulatory college
- Experience with Brain Tumours and/or Acquired Brain Injury rehabilitation is required, outpatient rehabilitation setting is preferred
- Proven abilities in quality improvement (project planning, implementation and evaluation)
- Demonstrated ability to network and nurture relationships.
- Excellent intrapersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a high performing interdisciplinary team required
- Experience in advocating for patients and carers with external stakeholders to facilitate supportive community resources
- Self-directed individual with strong leadership abilities
- Expert organizational skills with demonstrated flexibility in dealing with competing priorities
- Experience working in palliative care or with patients with a degenerative condition is an asset
- Demonstrated sensitivity, patient-centred orientation and excellent communication skills
- Assistive Devices Program (ADP) authorizer status for mobility aids is an asset
